IELTS Essay Question:

Some people believe that money is more important than free time for a good quality of life. Others say the opposite is true. Discuss both views. What is more important in your opinion? Give relevant examples.

Answer:

Everything in our life can be directly related to money. Many people consider that having more money is essentially important, in contrary,  there are certain individuals think that free time is more precious than having more money. In the course of this essay, I will discuss both viewpoints and reveal my opinion at the conclusion.

In a money-driven society, one cannot deny the importance of money because it is the most necessary thing that we require. It is a tool in acquiring the basic necessities in life such as food, shelter and good health. In addition, this could also help people to become self-dependent in fulfilling individuals’ life desire on their own. The luxuries of life can easily be purchased thus enabling you and your family to live a happy lifestyle.

On the other hand, many believes that having more free time is beneficial in terms of health aspects namely social, mental and physical. Taking social for instance, free time allows everyone to share experiences with friends and family. In this way, people gain opportunities to grow closer to somebody that are important in their life. Being close with your loved ones is important because they are the ones that support you during hard times. Moreover, free time offers the mind a chance to relax and refresh itself after working  a long period of time.  Limited free time. means the world could become a place populated by stressed out people with no family and friends.

In conclusion, money plays a vital role in our society nowadays but it is equally important to give our selves breaks in between to relieve our mind and body of the strain. In my opinion, achieving a good financial footing is primarily important than having plenty of free time but you cannot provide the basic needs of your loved ones.
