Many people keep dogs and cats as companions. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of pet ownership for the animals involved and for the community as a whole.

A growing number of people nowadays are noticeably attracted into pets as their buddies. Many communities are now adopting a pet-friendly areas where owners can bring their furry with them. While lives of pet-lovers are entangled to the sweetness of their fur babies,  others simply focus on the drawbacks. This essay will examine the advantages and disadvantages of having animals as companions.

Humans are naturally having a deep love for animals especially for dogs and cats. Many individuals have benefited from this unusual link between human-animal relationship. One of the most enthralling benefits of owning a pet such as dog and cat are their ability to give a sheer joy to owners. These pets are playful in nature, they do silly things to make people in the neighborhood laugh with their actions and sense of humor. Furthermore, dogs are obviously loyal and unconditionally loving companions.  They will enthusiastically greet keepers when they come home by wagging their tail vigorously. These are just a couple of example of many fascinating benefits that may surprise pet lovers. 

Despite its allure, pet owners should recognize the drawbacks when deciding to add member to their family. Owning a pet is a lifetime commitment and most individuals or families has their own limitations whether time or financial aspects. Time for instance, pet keepers need to spend quality time on training, daily walking and cleaning of faeces. Many busy individuals may experience difficulties in committing precious time for their new fur baby. Additionally, caring of pets involve financial commitment. They are costly to maintain as there are many little expenses that can add up such as food, medicine and shelter. Therefore, people should do a personal assessment of their available time and financial capacity before bringing up a puppy or a kitty into the house. 

In summary, the unconditional love and sweetness of pets for humans help people in so many ways. However, pets need constant supervision and the cost of having a dog or cat can take so much to someone’s budget.
