Nowadays many people prefer to buy famous brands of clothes, cars and other items.

What are the reasons for this?

Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Essay Response:

These days, consumer preferences are shifting to favor well-known and high-end brands among their most preferred products to purchase. This paper will explores reasons why some consumers pick luxury branded goods as their favorite bought items and expand my opinion why I believe that this trend could deliver positive outcome. 

As many countries at present experiencing social and economic progress, some of its people as well are buying popular products. Most people today are more inclined to own luxury merchandise because of so many reasons. First, with the influence of social media, flaunting wealth and extravagant lifestyle become so normal in this contemporary society. Some individuals perceived that wearing or using branded items can set them as part of the upper class group. Second, people tend purchase extra expensive items because they want to achieve self-actualization. This means people are motivated to owning sophisticated items to fulfill their ultimate desires in life. 

Without a doubt, the fulfilment and realization of someone’s desires to own luxurious brands is extremely admirable. Buying popular branded items means an individual is already secured on their fundamental basic needs. For example, one will not buy expensive goods if they struggle to put food in the table and have a safe roof over their heads . Humans tend to seek to satisfy first their basic necessities such as food and shelter before making a steps towards acquiring higher value needs. In addition, when an individual desires to acquire premium goods, it means one have sufficient discretionary income more than enough to support their impulse for luxury items. 

In conclusion, as more and more people becoming wealthy, demands of famous products will continue to grow. When most citizens have the ability to buy popular brands and live in an opulent lifestyle, it appears that the people are earning high.
