Answer:

In a money-driven society, frequently both parents have to work or juggle multiple jobs to increase income and lessen family’s financial stresses. Two-income families are perceived to enjoy better financial footing and family members are likely to appreciate enriching experiences. However, some children want to be pampered with their parents which is impossible to happen if both couples are working. In this essay, I will explore both possible consequences that may prevent the family to bonds together.

To start with, for families that choose to pursue dual income streams by working outside of the house, their children may benefit for having two working parents. Firstly, more money translates to less worrying about household expenses. Children can get better health care, obtain higher-quality education and enjoy more outdoor activities with the whole family. Secondly, when both parents are out for work, there is high possibility for an equal roles in the household chores. When one is out for work, others will take control in the house. In effect, child can experience care from both of them, in contrast to traditional practice that the mother is usually the main responsible of raising their children.

On the contrary, there are also drawbacks for little one who have both parents are in the workforce. Couples will have a limited time in the house and this can affect negatively to children. For example, children without constant communication with adults can possibly suffer mental disorder that led to difficulty to speak and read. This is recognizable during the early years in school and continues into adulthood. In addition, there are possibilities that couples will hire nannies to stand in their behalf. Hiring caregivers might works fine but probably may not work to all children and might result to a bad emotional development. The increase in household income is beneficial to the family but the time of mother and father spent in nurturing the young one’s well-being has a long-term benefits.

To sum up, families with both parents are working could possibly enjoy financial stability but children need parent’s time as they are among the most important people in the lives of young ones. In my view, mother and father should balance the often competing demands of work and family as children needs quality time not just material things.
