Davillo’s veteran moves carries Hurricanes into AFBL 3rd Season win column

Marven Davillo’s long-basketball brilliance shone the way for Double Joint Hurricanes past PA Plant Vipers, 49-38, Friday at Al-Badia Basketball Court that allows Hurricanes to make a landfall into the winners’ circle in the Al-Qahtani Basketball League 3rd Season Basketball Tournament.

Davillo scored 30 points, 16 points from behind the arc for the Hurricanes following a season-opening thrilling loss to FCD Wolves.

The Vipers were actually keeping close but failed to lead for the entire game. The strong twirls of two-point from Davillo of the Hurricanes put the Vipers at bay and helpless. Vipers best player,  Sigalat, has only scored 10 points for the 40 minutes game because he picked up his fourth foul early in the second half. Vipers Coach Edgar Esguerra, decided to let Sigalat play for the remaining minutes of the third quarter to take advantage of his skills even if he fouls out. However, he failed to score until he was fouled out of the game in the fourth quarter. Sulit was the lone bright spot for Vipers with 14 points while Max Franco added 7 points with no answer to Davillo.

More than half of the total scores of the Hurricanes were from Davillo who simply schooled the Viper players. He was backed up by Jayson Constantino and Antonio Equita with 6 and 5 points respectively.

The Scores:

Hurricanes 49 – Marven Davillo 30, Jayson Constantino 6, Antonio Equita 5, Roberto Romen 3, Jorge Matley 3. Madayag 2.

Vipers 38 – Carlito Sulit 14, Arnel Sigalat 10, Max Franco 7, Edgar Esguerra 4, Rene Divino 3, Rolando Villalon 0.

Quarter Scores: 8-11, 16-21, 29-35, 38, 49
