Moving overseas for work is definitely depressing task and not an easy decision to make. It is claimed by many that being employed overseas is beneficial, others, however, looked at it negatively. Even though there are so many people inclined to work abroad, still it has its own bright sides and drawbacks and some of these will be illustrated in this essay.
Working abroad is a rewarding ventures to some people because of several benefits associated with being employed in other countries. The advantages of going overseas for work cannot be underestimated even for ordinary people. One of the bright side is income, transferring abroad can significantly increase someone’s income. More developed countries offers high compensations to foreign workers as some economies around the world lack talent in some industries. Another factor is to gain work experience, one of the most common problems young graduates have to deal with is that they lack of opportunities in their origin country. Gaining international experience will add to their experiences, increase adaptability and to become more mature.
In contrary, people looking for overseas employment should know the consequences that lies ahead. Working in a foreign land can have serious disadvantages, which might affect family, health and stability. Packing up for overseas jobs means leaving your families behind. Relocating somewhere in distant places in exchange of better income sometimes looks selfish by leaving your parents and children completely brokenhearted. Parents need your help during health emergencies which unfortunately common at their age. This can also affect to children, growing up without one or both parents on their side, children can possibly experience psychological and emotional pains. Living away with family is potentially be source of relationship issues that can end up derailing a marriage.
In summary, seeking employment overseas can be economically beneficial to the family, however, there are also potential grave repercussions from leaving your family behind. In my opinion, working abroad, particularly long-term does not make a positive impact on a relationship, but not everyone are fortunate enough to be given a chance to live with their family and at the same time financially healthy.
