IELTS Essay Question:

Some people think that hard work helps in achieving Financial success while others think it is not the only thing which contributes to financial success.

Discuss both the views and give your opinion.

Answer:

For many years, numerous individuals assumed that hard work is the only key to financial success or in any endeavor in life. Others, however, still believe that there are other equally important values that play a dominant role in reaching this goal. The aim of this essay is to present the different viewpoints and support the argument that hard work alone is not the only way in achieving great prosperity.

To start with, future financial success is one of the great reasons why people keep working hard. Working diligently and consistently can help anyone accumulate sufficient wealth as well as achieve greatness in life.  One great example is my former employer in the Philippines, in his early twenties right after college he used to sell salt to his neighbors. From that start up he persisted and eventually become a successful businessmen. Another example is Bill Gates, a college drop that turned to became the richest men in the world because of his perseverance to achieve his goals in life. Working towards a dream is a real challenge but those who will persevere can expect an extraordinary results. 

Conversely, more people argued that hard work in itself will not make someone rich. This argument appears to carry some weight as most financial planners advocated that people need to combine hard work with a well defined financial goal and exceptional skills. Having a well defined goal ensures individual to have a realistic plan in accordance to a desired result. For example, if someone intend to retire early, they will probably need  to work hard and save money because overspending can create a barriers to financial success. Achieving prosperity involve some extra steps, steps that are so tough and painful but if the right formula is in place, then nothing can prevent anyone from reaching financial success. 

To sum it up, people do not need to concentrate solely on hard work in obtaining more wealth. Rather, by continuously expanding financial acumen and willingness to increase effort required to amass more assets. I am onboard on the notions that a sound financial behaviours and a blend of hard work, many people can achieve great wealth.
