Many jobs require ongoing training and research to stay competitive in a world with rapidly evolving information and technology. Some believe that it is the responsibility of businesses to pay for this training for their staff while others feel it is up to the individual.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Many businesses today are continually being affected by fierce competition and digital transformation. Some activities that employees perform nowadays are likely involve technological innovations. In order to enable workers to carry out their works using new technology, employees need to undergo constant trainings. From my personal standpoint, employers should invest in workers training and development for the business to remain competitive.
To start, workforce training and development programs are essential in every organizations’ success. The business landscape of today is rapidly changing with new technologies spring up constantly in workplaces. It is important for companies to focus on upgrading not just the systems but also the capability of their employees. Firstly, each individual worker need to learn new skills that can be applied in their work to stay competitive . Training can give them an opportunity to strengthen their weaknesses and fill the lacking skills. Secondly, equipping employees with right skills can help build the future of the company. Although, many organizations will benefit if they keep their workers abreast with the latest technological trends, but some employers find this program expensive.
While many companies put more emphasis on employees training, there are other firms that are incapable to offer such program to all staff. Some organizations believe that employees should take charge of improving their own abilities to handle tasks. For instance, many employers are reluctant to invest in career development because they think that workers will just leave and use those expertise elsewhere. In addition, some people think that employees should invest for their own training to obtain sophisticated skills that they can use in future career opportunities. Obviously, employees need to constantly upgrade their knowledge to become more competitive and marketable in this rapidly changing world. Hence, workers need to allocate funds for this endeavor to enhance employability.
In conclusion, training programs can be expensive but it can provide countless benefits to a business. Granting that many employers included trainings as part of their skill development programs but there are still employees who did not receive proper employer-sponsored training. In my opinion, though workers need to invest on trainings to become up-to-date with the latest in their respective field, but employers are more capable to offer those opportunities to their employees.
When it comes to IELTS Test, vocabulary is one of the most important skills a test-taker must have. In writing section, having a good grasp of English vocabulary will help you frame and convey your ideas in words using an effective and varied vocabulary.
