Mobile phones have made life easier: anyone can use a mobile phone to answer/make work calls or home calls at any place 7 days a week.
Do you think this development has more positive effects or negative effects on the individual and society?
In today’s technology-focused society, mobile phones undoubtedly becoming a vital piece of device that everyone must posses. The present generation benefited tremendously from the advent of mobile technology that have changed the landscape of communication. Some people had spoken about the disadvantages of having a mobile phone, however, I believe that many people benefited from this additional communication tool.
These days, cellular phones have become a necessity in homes and businesses around the world. It helps people in the day-to-day communication and online transactions. For example, having a mobile phone allow individuals to received/send messages, access entertainment, make online payments as long as network connectivity is available. Furthermore, this portable telephone greatly contributed to the safety and security to the people. Someone can call for assistance anytime or anywhere even if they are stranded in the middle of nowhere. No doubt, this modern device significantly contributed in terms of convenience to the society.
Amidst all benefits written above, mobile phone also brought some drawbacks such as distraction and health concerns. Many individuals find it difficult to avoid picking the phone when it ring. In public transport for instance, it is impossible to relax during a trip when other passengers are talking or playing with loud volumes on their mobile phones. In addition, mobile devices may cause certain type of cancer or other health problems. However, the flip sides of having a cellular phone cannot overshadow the advantages of owning a latest cellphone technology. When someone have a phone, they will never feel lonely as long as they are connected to the internet. They can either play games or talk to love ones all day long using their sleek and slim mobile phones.
In conclusion, mobile phone though destructive but if people will use it responsibly then it can make life easier or can be a lifesaver. Even though there are so many advantages of having a cellular phone, yet, like everything, there are also disadvantages. Therefore, people need to balance and control the usage of mobile devices in such a way that could not affect personal’s health and destruct other people.
