IELTS Essay Question:

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Student should take out student loans to avoid working while studying.

Answer:

As school tuition fee keeps rising, many students pushed to borrow money in the form of student loan to get through college. Taking out loans as financial aid rather than doing some side gig while studying is both beneficial and detrimental to borrowers. However, student loan offers more benefits as alternative financial fund to cover school fees. This essay agree to this statement that student should avail educational loans to help them attend college without taking any part-time jobs. 

Undeniably, many students benefiting from this type of loans offered by both governments and private lenders to support needy families with their children’s educational expenses. Taking out loans to finance someone’s education is a great support for students. Firstly, the loan amount can help students to stay away from additional stress and distraction from work. College life in itself is stressful and most of them are unable to focus their studies when surrounded with so many distractions. Secondly, sleep deprivation is another factor that may lead them to perform poorly in classroom. Humans required 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night to achieves the required energy to perform their daily activities. Hence, the borrowed money is a huge support for student to cover education costs.

In the contrary, having a job while in school seem a daunting task but it also offers some benefits. One great advantage is that students can have an alternative source of cash flow to augment the meager allowances they received from their parents. As not all students are blessed with rich families that can afford to pay their tuition fees. However, working students has the tendency to be overwhelmed with work loads, multiple classes and other personal activities. Definitely, all of these tasks are stressful and can easily turn students to be burned out. Thus, borrowing money from different sources are beneficial for students especially those with poor backgrounds.

In summary, educational loans definitely a blessing to many students and their families. Although, engaging a side hustle while studying could be beneficial as it opens a possible stream of income but it can also be a source of daily pressures and tensions. Therefore, I am in agreement that taking money from different lending institutions can lessen the students’ financial burdens during their academic life.
